Kenyan elections ... a month to go !!!

With about a month to go for the Kenyan elections, the Electoral Body clears eight Presidential candidates. It is going to be a historical one with recently amended constitution and instead of electing only the president, 210 members of the parliament and about 700 local representatives; Kenyan citizens will select candidates for 1882 posts of which 290 will be for members of parliament, 47 senators, 47 country governors, 47 female country representatives, 1450 civil wards and the presidency. 2007 was a bad year going down in the history of Kenya on account of post election violence where around 1000 people were killed, thousands displaced and sizable damages to the economy on disturbed tourism. World politics is watching this country, a land with significant importance in Eastern Africa.

The stage is set for March 4, 2013 and with efficient use of technology. In just one-and-a-half hours after voting closes at 5 pm, results will start to come in and winners being announced.

Kenyan rafiki kwa bahati nzuri. ( Good luck to Kenyan friends )
